Project description

The initial project of line 9 and line 10 of the Barcelona metro appeared at the end of the 1990s; In 1999 the Generalitat decided to build this line, which would link the municipalities of Badalona, ​​Santa Coloma de Gramenet, Barcelona, ​​l’Hospitalet de Llobregat and Prat de Llobregat along a 42-km, 46-station tunnel, which would be the Longest in Barcelona and cross the city transversally, almost parallel to the Ronda del Mig.

Line 10 of the Barcelona metro is an automatic metropolitan rail line of the Barcelona metro operated by Metropolitan Transport of Barcelona (TMB) that runs through the same tunnel as line 9 and runs between the Zona Franca – Zal stations and Gorg.

Once it is completely finished, it will provide service and connect the city of Barcelona with the municipalities of Badalona, ​​Hospitalet de Llobregat and the free zone of Barcelona and the Prat de Llobregat. Between Bon Pastor and Gornal the L9 and the L10 will share tracks and platforms. From the station of Gorg to Motors, the trains will circulate underground with tracks at different levels, and from Free Zone Litoral to Zona Franca – Zal through a viaduct of 6.5m in height.

The trains of the L10 line circulate without driver thanks to an automatic control system. These trains have a length of almost 90 meters and 5 continuous cars, where there is room for 960 people in each.

Luxes has participated, and continues to participate, in the lighting of Line 10 of the Barcelona Metro, particularly in the Provençana, Illdefons Cerdà, Foneria and Foc Cisell stations.

Luxes has developed and been involved in all lighting phases of Line 10, from the initial definition and planning to commissioning, offering a complete and global view of the management and development of the project.

Luxes has special experience in the fast and efficient management of resources, capable of developing a project in a very short time, in coordination and juxtaposed with the planning, execution of the work and commissioning.

The works of line 10 were resumed last June of 2017 and the Provençana station is scheduled to be ready by February 2019.

The stations of Cerdà and Ernest Lluch will have to wait a little longer, and will be operational by October 2019.

There will still be five other Free Zone stations whose dates are yet to be determined in order to close this part of the route of Line 10.

Journey for the future L10 South between the ZAL Free Zone depots and the Collblanc station recorded on January 17, 2018, thanks to a visit from the Central Andean Association and the TMB retirees association.

You can see the stations that will open in 2018 (Foc and Funeria) and those that will open in 2019 (Ciutat de la Justicia y Provençana).

You can also see the stations of the viaduct and Motors, which will be inaugurated beyond 2019.
