Lighting project – Pere Virgili Hospital

In the heart of the Gracia district, one of the most bohemian and multicultural areas of Barcelona, we find the Pere Virgili Health Park. It is a hospital complex of the Government of Catalonia, where the Military Hospital of Barcelona was originally housed.
This social and health complex is the largest and the one with the most activity in all of Catalonia, with an area of 50,000 square metres. About half of this land is intended for green areas.
Throughout the exterior terrain, conventional luminaires have been replaced by the AURA hybrid LED streetlight. The replacement of the luminaires has been a simple process, thanks to the fact that this luminaire has a design prepared for replacement with quick connection without the need to modify the existing electrical installation.
In this lighting project, Luxes has focused on avoiding light pollution. For this reason, the Aura design has been the most suitable for this project.
In addition, a power reduction function has been programmed according to the time slots.
Aura’s sphere is made of high-resistance, non-deformable, UVA-resistant polycarbonate, which allows it to withstand adverse weather conditions. The streetlight is made up of a built-in solar collector that allows great energy savings.

The result of this project has meant a significant improvement in the lighting of the entire exterior area of the Hospital Center, and superior efficiency. Light pollution levels have been reduced, while significant energy savings have been achieved.
