Legends Museum, Madrid

In the heart of Madrid, in front of the iconic Puerta del Sol, Legends is born, a monumental space of 4,200 m² that pays tribute to the living history of football. Conceived by Legends Collection and supported by LaLiga, UEFA, and FIFA, this unique museum transforms football passion into an unprecedented cultural and sensory experience.

Light that celebrates the excitement of soccer

The exhibition tour brings together more than 600 historical pieces —legendary jerseys, balls, trophies, and original objects— that narrate the most emblematic moments of world football. In this context, LUXES has had the privilege of designing and implementing the comprehensive architectural lighting system of the museum, a project where light becomes a narrative and emotional resource.

Each piece has been treated with curatorial precision using Luxes Fénix S mini LED spotlights and Zoom Track systems, which allow for the modulation of the light beam according to the scale, texture, and value of the object. In the display cases and detail areas, Luxes Gaia Professional LED strips with aluminum profiles and adjustable control were incorporated, highlighting the nuances without compromising the conservation of textiles and sensitive materials.

The exterior display cases and signage areas are equipped with powerful and versatile Zoom Track LED spotlights, featuring visors and ovalizing lenses to control the direction and impact of the light. In a second phase, the implementation of dynamic RGBW lighting with Luxes Gaia LED strips on the facade of the protected historic building is planned, adding a scenic dimension to the architectural ensemble.

A benchmark in museum lighting

The lighting design of Legends aims to create an immersive experience that complements the exhibition narrative with theatricality, precision, and visual coherence. The light guides the visitor through the various themed rooms—dedicated to competitions such as the World Cup, the Champions League, or LaLiga—generating an atmosphere that combines emotion, technology, and heritage.

Energy efficiency, the versatility of LED systems, and the control of intensity and color temperature were key to achieving a balance between conservation, aesthetics, and visual comfort. The result is an environment that invites you to discover, feel, and relive the history of football in every detail.
